I Have a Current Spiritual Practice

For many years I’ve had a personal spiritual and metaphysical practice that has grown and evolved along the way. At times, I’ve been involved in the traditional small groups of covens and mystical associations, as well as practicing solitary rituals when the necessity arose. We completely understand that individuals may have found practices that work well for them, while still seeking a community to be a part of.

Some of us in the neo-pagan, occult, and metaphysical world came from traditional religious backgrounds. Many of us could not connect with the messages or potentially the mortal messengers of the “church” and found our home within the wisdom of the traditions and workings of the non-mainstream religious world. Nevertheless, many of us have still longed for the sense of community and fellowship that we left behind in the religion of our upbringing.

The goal of the Victorian Society of Metaphysics & Magic was to provide that sense of belonging and community. Although we offer a certain outlook on the occult and magickal arts, we understand that the energies we all work with come from the same sources. Whether you practice Wicca, Yoruba, Heathenry, Asatru, Brujeria, Appalachian Conjure, or any number of other spiritual paths, you have aligned with the more primal energies of the universe and thus are connected to our community in a very deep way. Not only do we believe that energy in such communal activities is beneficial to individuals, we also believe that by bringing together the plethora of practices can only break down barriers and open dialogue towards universal truths without names and boundaries.

Currently the Society meets once a month for all practitioners, of all traditions, to come together and celebrate our unique place in the universe. Outside of this, we hope to offer support and guidance to all those who wish to practice under their own beliefs and traditions. Currently we have three sub-groups that are practicing within the overarching structure of the Society; the Temple of Thoth whose practitioners seek greater understanding and meaning in high or ceremonial magick, the Temple of the Sea Born whose adherents align with the ancient mystery traditions of the Mediterranean, and the Circle of Selene whose practitioners align with the more traditional nature-based traditions. The Society is quite open, however, to adding sub-groups under our wing should the need arise.

If you have a grounded spiritual practice, but would like to become part of a community, please reach out to us. Feel free to attend one of our New Member’s Informational Teas, or contact us at info@victorianmetaphysical.com
